This winter we are excited to sponsor Robert DeLaurentis and the Flying Thru Life team during their Pole to Pole flight. The journey began on November 16th 2020 and DeLaurentis is scheduled to cross over the South Pole on January 1st 2020. In total DeLaurentis will be traveling over 20,000 miles and will visit over 20 countries!

For the trip SatPhoneStore will be providing the crew with an Iridium GO and airtime for the plane so the they will be able stay connected beyond the limits of regual terrestrial communcations. The Iridium GO offers voice calling, text messaging, and data like email or GRIB files using your own smartphone or tablet, all on the truly global Iridium satellite network.

DeLaurentis, also a noted aviation speaker and author of two books, has previously flown his single engine plane to 53 countries in the past three years as well as crossing the Polar Ice Cap, the North Atlantic Ocean, Bering Sea and Gulf of Mexico by himself. In the summer of 2015 he also circumnavigated the globe in a single plane.

The plane will also be working with the UC Santa Barbara scientific community by housing several protoype "spacecrafts" for the NASA Starlight program. Each holds a GPS, optical communications devices to interact with each other, ultra low power radio (optional), inertial navigation, temperature and optical imaging sensors which will record data and sent back using a satellite transmission. The mission of Flying Thru Life is " One Planet. One People. One Plane" and they aim to connect all people in-between through a shared adventure which includes deeper peace and oneness. The journey, in combination with the DeLaurentis Foundation, will support great causes like STEM education, aviation safety, and technology.

You can track Robert's progress here.
